This privacy policy applies to the Kaoten application (hereinafter referred to as "Application") for mobile devices, provided as an entertainment service. This Application uses AI to analyze face photos and generate scores for entertainment purposes only.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use the Application:

  • Device Information: Unique device identifier obtained through device information API
  • Usage Analytics: App usage data such as screen views, photo capture events, scoring completion, share actions, and profile updates
  • Face Photos: Photos captured within the app for AI analysis (transmitted as base64 encoded data)
  • Score History: Scores, comments, and timestamps (stored locally on your device)
  • Authentication Information: User ID for authentication purposes

The Application does not collect precise location information or contact details.

3. Purposes of Data Collection

We use collected information for the following purposes:

  • To provide AI face scoring functionality
  • To improve app performance and user experience
  • To authenticate users and prevent unauthorized access
  • To analyze usage patterns for service improvement
  • To store score history on your device

4. Data Storage

  • Local Storage: Score history (maximum 50 records), consent status, and user preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage
  • Face Photos: Photos are saved as local file URIs on your device. They are not stored on our servers after AI analysis is complete
  • Cloud Storage: No user data is stored in cloud databases (no Firestore/Cloud Storage usage)

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Authentication: For user authentication via device ID
  • Google Analytics for Firebase (GA4): For app usage analytics
  • AI Analysis Service: For analyzing face photos and generating scores/comments (compatible with OpenAI API specifications)

Note: The Application currently does not use AdMob or other advertising services.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Your data may be shared with:

  • AI Analysis Service: Face photos (base64) are transmitted for analysis. The service provider may use data in accordance with their own privacy policy
  • Analytics Services: Aggregated, anonymized usage data for app improvement
  • Authentication Services: Firebase Authentication for secure user management

7. Data Retention and Management

  • Local Data: Score history is retained locally on your device, limited to 50 records. You can delete individual records or all history at any time through the app's settings
  • Authentication Data: Authentication information is retained while using the app and is cleared upon sign-out
  • Analytics Data: Retained according to Google Analytics policy

8. Device Authentication

The Application uses a unique device identifier for authentication purposes. This is used to:

  • Authenticate users without requiring account registration
  • Prevent unauthorized access and enhance security
  • Associate usage data with the same device across sessions

9. User Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: View your score history in the app
  • Delete: Delete individual or all score history through the app's settings
  • Opt-out of Analytics: Uninstall the app to stop data collection
  • Contact: Request information disclosure or data deletion by contacting us

10. Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information, including:

  • Firebase Authentication for secure user management
  • Local storage encryption (provided by AsyncStorage)
  • HTTPS/TLS for data transmission
  • Device ID-based authentication for access control

11. Children's Privacy

This Application is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will immediately delete it.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating this page with the new policy. You are advised to consult this privacy policy regularly, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
